Hp Blue is a basic stain and is used to demonstrate acidic substances. Hp Blue is formulated to stain bacteria and acidic cellular elements blue. When used in combination with Hp Yellow it produces results equivalent to the Alcian Yellow-toluidine blue procedure to demonstrate Helicobacter pylori.
